PFA draw blank

PFA were forced to settle for a draw when they fought against physical opposition of Arema FC and dominated for long spells at Padang Panglima.

It was a game full of chances with JJ and Daniel went closest for PFA when the former hit the bar with a header. Both sides created chances in an entertaining fist half, though PFA looked the likelier scorers.

Daniel was guilty of missing a couple of opportunities after storming into the box and most of his shots were eventually saved. He was inches away from turning the ball home in the second period but the ball hit the post.

Adid whipped an inviting free-kick but the goalkeeper managed to tip off and hit the bar. With time running out, PFA had to settle with a scoreless draw 0-0 fulltime.

Defensive errors proved costly

PFA travelled to BSB for a friendly match against Unknown team name from BSB at Padang RBA on Saturday afternoon. Chances were few and far between in the opening exchanges with neither keeper had a serious early save to make.

Following a slow opening, PFA were troubled by the lacklustre defensive display on a couple of occasions and attacking wise the final ball proved a let-down. PFA then found themselves behind when the hosts scored an early goal against the run of play.

The visitors, though, were back in the game soon after when JJ rainbowed a long ball over the top, into the run of Daniel getting ahead of his marker and tapped home 1-1. The equalizer seemed to bring the visitors to life as they finally found their feets.

It was PFA who continued to control the tempo of the game into the second period and have spurned few decent chances to take the lead. The visitors then were stunned when a misjudged error by PFA goalkeeper Adid gifted the hosts a soft goal from set-piece play.

The visitors continued in search of another equalizing goal but it was so close and yet so far as the game head to full time defeat to the visitors. Nameng were involved in an angry exchange of words with one of the opposition following a foul on Daniel.

PFA bites back

Goals from Daniel and Fizu ensured PFA savoured a sweet revenge over Adidas following their defeat in the previous encounter. Both teams carried on to play despite the unfavorable pitch as sections of it were filled by rainwater.

PFA stormed into the lead on 15 minutes when Reno’s clever pass beyond the attentions of the defenders sent Daniel clean through getting ahead of his marker and strike a stunning 20yards shot past the goalkeeper.

JJ then had the chance to double the lead as he curled agonisingly wide from a free-kick just outside the box. Adidas pressed in search of an equaliser but it never came as Adid and co-defenders had to be on their toes to contain them.

PFA made an almost entire changes during the break and they began to take control of possession better than the first period. Fizu’s introduction had provided PFA with a different attacking impetus and he was involved in the second goal as he broke forward and lashed home a vicious shot from a tight angle.

Mimi spurned a great chance to make it 3 when he directed a weak shot at goal when unmarked. Adidas launched a few long-range efforts of their own but they were enjoying none of the services.

PFA smash past four

The game looked to be one-sided affair as PFA were in cruise control by defeating RMSF 4-0 with Nameng, Daniel, Hj Azeem and Hj Boy are on the scoresheet.

The opener arrived as Daniel made an incisive run to the byline and squared perfectly into the path of Nameng to nicely placed the ball home from 4 yards.

Daniel then made it two with a half-volley following Nameng cross. Any hope of RMSF come back was extinguished when Hj Azeem smashed home PFA’s third from the outside area to put PFA three goals clear.

There was just one more goal after the break when Hj Boy then added the fourth with a fine right-footed finish to get his name on the scoresheet.
